On April 22, 2009, INSCT held a reception in honor of the 36 students who earned the Certificate of Advanced Study in Security Studies and the 16 students who completed the Law Certificate in National Security and Counterterrorism in 2009. Joshua W. Hedges (INSCT '07, MAIR '07) published "Eliminating the Learning Curve: A Pragmatic Look at Jihadist Use of the Internet," in Journal of Applied Security Research, January 2008. 

Marie-Claude Francoeur (INSCT '08) was recently appointed by Quebec's Premier and cabinet as Assistant Deputy Minister for Policies and Treaties in the Ministry of International Relations.

Major Edward Cox (INSCT ’08) had an op-ed published in the Times Herald Record on the implications for rescinding DoD’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Policy”.  Click here .

Rebekah Bina, SU Law '04, wrote a review of the book, Conflict, Terrorism and the Media in Asia which was published in the March 2007 issue of Federal Communications Law Journal.  Click here to read her article.

Brendan Gilbert, LAW '04, and recipient of the Certificate of Law in National Security and Counterterrorism will be highlighted in the College of Law 2008-09 catalog for his work as trial counsel for Combined/Joint Task Force (CJTF)-82, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and NATO’s International Security Assistance Force.

Corri Zoli, Ph.D-Cultural Studies '04, MA-IR,'08, had her essay, "The Strategic Roots of Arab Federalism and Its Failure: Transnational Sovereign Power Issues, Military Rule, and Arab Identity" published in a collection by Ashgate: Defunct Federalisms: Critical Perspectives on Federal Failures (eds. Magdalena Zolkos, Emilian Kavalski).

Jeremy Snellen (COL 2008), is currently a staff member of The Office of War Crimes Issues at the U.S. Department of State.  The Office of War Crimes Issues, established in the mid-1990's, monitors atrocities globally.  This office is highlighted in the article "Never Again," published in the April 2008 issue of State.

Kris Kiefer's (SUCOL '05) paper "Missing the Point:  How Efforts to Secure the Southern Border Fail to Achieve Their Purpose" was referenced in a 5/4/06 Washington Post Article "The Wrong Place to Stop Terrorists," written by Peter Beinart.  

Michael Vozzo (SUCOL '04) and Fayza Elmostehi's (SUCOL '05) paper "Domestic Intelligence and National Security Reform Proposals" was cited by Richard A. Posner on page 4 of his 2005 monograph "Remaking Domestic Intelligence."
